Product Design How does an innovative and successful product come about?
Our Product Design team collaborates with the client company from the first style concept through to assisting with project engineering.

With almost 20 years of experience in Product Design, more than 500 projects developed in dozens of different sectors for companies all over the world, our creative team works alongside the clients right from the brief definition phase, the document that underpins every project and contains technical constraints, allowable investments, target audience, ergonomics, logistical and industrial challenges. The goal is to be able to bring innovation and freshness even before we pick up the pencil. Our Product Design team begins consulting with the research and analysis phase: competing products, similar companies by industry and positioning, market interest, patents present in the industry.

We have created successful projects and products in the most diverse sectors: from furniture design to lighting design, from consumer electronics to eyewear, from coffee machines to kitchen appliances, from sports equipment to automotive. This experience is supported by strong knowledge of the world of engineering and manufacturing: product designer and style manager Valerio Cometti is a mechanical engineer and has created around him a team of refined and visionary creatives, but with great concreteness and knowledge of what lies behind the birth of an industrial product.
This very deep approach allows our team in Milan to start elaborating the first style proposals by associating each pencil stroke on the sheet with a given manufacturing process, a certain investment, a certain industrial and functional implication.
Freehand sketches are followed by parametric 3D models to develop the design including all geometric, functional and dimensional constraints. Our output is a set of photorealistic renderings that illustrate the developed proposals. We also deliver 3D models to the client, which allow us to make an initial estimate of the possible investment and industrial implications that each design proposal implies.

The smooth integration of design and engineering, combined with knowledge of manufacturing processes, are factors of incalculable value to our clients, who save time and money by minimizing design rework and eliminating errors during product development downstream of the approved style and design. We also support the client in all phases of physical prototyping with varying degrees of realism and depth. This collaboration involves continuous dialogue with the client’s R&D managers so that engineering and industrialization choices fit organically into the design.

So many new products try every year to satisfy the needs and dreams of an increasingly distracted, fast-paced, rushed world. Being able to make a lateral shift, to produce something unexpected while surprising the market with genuine innovation, are goals within the reach of good design, of design that creates value for companies and people.
